I'm Antonio, a software engineer living in New York, with experience in React.js, Ruby on Rails, D3, and PostgreSQL. First a philosophy student from Italy, I pursued inquiries of logic and epistemology, lending to my understanding of abstract structures and concepts. Now, as a programmer, I believe in the ability of technology to bring people closer to themselves, truth, and a better world.

Project

  • Developed using JavaScript, React/Redux, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Sass
  • Designed as a single-page app, allowing users to seamlessly navigate between profile pages
  • Taking advantage of Rails’ polymorphic associations to reproduce Facebook’s interconnected structure between users, friends, and posts
  • Designed CRUD interface using MongoDb, interfacing with React-Redux through Express.js routes
  • Implemented a search function taking advantage of React’s stateful components
  • Completely re-designed the app for a more modern and minimalist look in accordance with team-leader’s styling directions
  • Leveraged D3.js’ powerful library to represent the song’s tempo, mood, and key in an intuitive spider chart
  • Implemented using Spotify’s powerful API, it can retrieve this information for more than 50 million songs
  • Thanks to OAuth’s client credential flow, the app can be accessed from any browser without a Spotify account
